Developing in Grove City
Development Review Process
The Grove City Development Department is responsible for administering the development review process from pre-submittal through Planning Commission and City Council.
General Review Procedures
Prior to formally submitting an application for Planning Commission's consideration, the Development Department strongly recommends that applicants arrange a meeting with City staff to discuss their project and timeframe. This meeting allows staff and the applicant to discuss details and expectations of the project. It also allows staff to outline the required procedures, approval processes and review regulations and ordinances.
Upon receipt of a complete application (including fee), the Development Department distributes plan materials to the various review agencies and conducts its initial review. Once the comments are received from the reviewing agencies, they are compiled into an administrative review letter which is sent to the applicant. The applicant is then responsible for revising plans to incorporate and address the comments contained in the review letter. Once plans have been sufficiently revised to address staff comments and resubmitted, the application is placed on the next Planning Commission agenda.
